Practice what you've learned about HealthInfoIowa, MEDLINEplus, ClinicalTrials.gov, and PubMed to answer the following information needs. Or, if you prefer, search for health information topics on your own "to do" list.

Compare what you find in one resource with what you find in another.

For practice:

  • The local television station is doing a news story on teen violence and has asked to interview you. You'd like some solid background information.

  • You've been asked to recommend resources for people who care for family members with Alzheimer's disease.

  • A high school student doing a term paper on mad cow disease has asked for your advice on finding reliable information.

  • You've been asked to speak at a meeting of high school coaches. They'd like practical ideas for encouraging their players not to smoke.

  • You've been asked to put together a fact sheet on meningitis to be distributed to the parents of elementary school children in your county.
