MEDLINEplus provides up-to-date, quality healthcare information from the world's largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. The site contains extensive information about specific diseases and conditions and wellness; a medical encyclopedia; excellent drug information for over 9,000 prescription and over-the-counter medications; and 30 interactive modules for patient education (the interactive modules require a Flash plug-in, which can be downloaded free of charge). Also provided are directories for location and credentials of doctors, dentists, and hospitals; health information in Spanish and other languages; and clinical trials.
